The Richard George Foundation (RGF), in partnership with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), has unveiled a 30 million naira state-of-the-art digital economy center at the Sancta Maria Catholic College of Nursing Sciences, Uzairue, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State. This is a huge step towards supporting educational technology.
Distinguished guests praised the project, hailing it as a revolutionary leap in the field of education infrastructure. Among them was Kashifu Inuwa, the Director-General of NITDA, who was represented by Sir Lawrence Dirisu, the Deputy Director of Research and Development at the organization.
During his speech, Inuwa emphasized the agency’s dedication to promoting collaborations that promote innovation and advancement while highlighting the strategic importance of using technology to achieve educational reform.
The founder of the Richard George Foundation, Mr. Richard George, conveyed his sincere appreciation for the chance to further studies.
He emphasized the foundation’s commitment to using technology for social impact and its goal of developing young African changemakers.
Ogbeide Ifaluyi-Isibor, Edo Commissioner for Digital Economy, Science, and Technology, praised the project and emphasized the critical role that digital technology plays in problem-solving, providing a resounding validation of the collaboration’s effect.
The college’s owner, Most Rev. Dr. Gabriel Dunia, reiterated these ideas, highlighting the center’s capacity to give students the skills they need to succeed in the digital age.
Other dignitaries in attendance included Engr. Dr. S.K. Ilugbekhai of SKI International, Mrs. Isimeme Whyte, Chief Innovation Officer at Genius Hub Global, Terseer Nyulaku, Ph.D., Executive Secretary of the Edo State Board for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, and Dr. Lois Otse Adams, Founder of the Udukotse Foundation and Co-Founder of the Authors in School Creative Club.
